What is Pellevé?
Pellevé is a noninvasive facial rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction system that makes use of radiofrequency to tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles on target areas. The patient experiences very minimal discomfort with the procedure and no anesthesia is usually required. Pellevé is the ideal procedure to treat delicate areas such as around the eyes and on the upper lip, and also in tightening the problem areas on the neck and the jowls.
What are the advantages of using Pellevé?
Pellevé is able to treat wrinkles and fine lines with practically no pain sensation and no required down time. Patients have said that receiving the Pellevé treatment is like getting a facial massage. This procedure can be performed in the doctor’s office and completed within a few minutes. The results are also immediately visible and long lasting, but subtle enough to produce a delicate improvement that does not suggest any cosmetic intervention.
How does it work?
Pellevé works by delivering a gradual radio frequency to the skin that causes heat buildup in the area where the skin and fat layers come together. This results in the alteration of the collagen clusters located inside the skin, making them contract and stimulating the growth of new collagen to produce firmer skin.
What should I expect from Pellevé?
Prior to the procedure, a protective gel will be applied onto the patient’s face, after which the Pellevé hand piece will be used to deliver the controlled radiofrequency into the skin. The patient will feel a warming sensation during the treatment, the intensity of which will serve as a guideline to describe the depth of the sensation as the treatment moves across the face. A single session to treat the entire face would take about 45 minutes to an hour.
How long does it take to see the results of Pellevé?
Patients will begin to see the effects of Pellevé after the first treatment. Other patients, however, need to or three treatments before they achieve the optimum results.
