What is Botox?

Botox® is one of the most well known cosmetic procedures that make efficient use of the muscle paralyzing activity of the botulism toxin to prevent and reduce wrinkles and frown lines. What results should I expect from Botox®?

The results from Botox® are usually evident a few days after the treatment. It takes roughly this amount of time for the botulinum toxin to exert its intended action on the indicated areas. In full effect, the patient will look refreshed and rejuvenated because of the disappearance of the fine lines and wrinkles on the treated areas. The patient’s inability to frown also contributes to the reduction of the recurrence of the wrinkles overtime. In general, the effect of Botoxv can last between 3 to 12 months, with regular maintenance injections recommended to keep the desired effects.
