DiamondTome® Resurfacing Microdermabrasion
What is DiamondTome® Resurfacing Microdermabrasion and why should I consider it?
DiamondTome® Resurfacing Microdermabrasion is a skin resurfacing procedure that uses an exfoliating technique to remove the outermost layer of the skin to make it softer, younger, and more vibrant. Natural diamond chips are used in the exfoliating procedure. These chips are attached to a wand that also functions as a vacuum to remove the exfoliated skin from the surface.
The purpose of the DiamondTome® procedure is to reveal new skin underneath the weathered outer layer. During the procedure, vascular circulation is stimulated which results in a healthier skin appearance.
DiamondTome® is effective in reducing fine lines and wrinkles, restoring sun damaged skin, reducing age spots, correcting this colored skin, reducing acne and other skin blemishes, extracting whiteheads or blackheads, and improving the overall condition of the skin. The DiamondTome® procedure can effectively be done to treat the skin on the patient’s face, neck, chest, back, arms, elbows, hands, legs, and feet. It is noninvasive, pain-free, and does not require any downtime so the patient can resume normal activity immediately after the treatment.
How does DiamondTome® Resurfacing Microdermabrasion work?
The DiamondTome® system makes use of surgical grade stainless steel wands that are available in four micron-chip sizes that can be interchanged according to each patient’s skin type. Each one is fitted with diamond chips that are sifted to the exact micron size, which will ensure proper resurfacing of the skin for each patient. As the outer layer of the skin is being removed, the wand also exert a vacuum effect that gathers the removed skin so that it may be shown to the patient after the procedure.
What is the advantage of using DiamondTome® ?
The DiamondTome® technique of skin resurfacing is effective for a variety of skin problems. Compared to similar procedures, DiamondTome® does away with some of the most worrisome problems experienced by patients and practitioners with the previous versions. With DiamondTome® there is a lesser tendency for abrasive particles to be embedded in the skin or to be propelled into the patient’s eyes during the procedure. Dust formation and inhalation is also avoided because the diamond chips do not flake off or pulverize in the process.
When can I see the results with DiamondTome® Resurfacing Microdermabrasion and how long will it last?
The results of the DiamondTome® procedure will be in full effect after a few days when the peeling has subsided. The patient’s new and younger looking skin can be maintained for as long as possible with regular follow-up treatments.
